Hello to all of my readers.
This week I got the chance to fill out a survey to help me get matched with three roommates. I have to tell you guys that I'm very nervous about the roommate situation. I worry about clashing with them over different view points and beliefs. SPU is a christian college and I don't agree with some of what they stand for. The gay and lesbian issue is huge. I love gay and lesbian people and SPU doesn't share my same views. They view gay and lesbian people as a sin. I'm a christian and believe in God but I guess I'm more liberal then most at SPU. I just Pray that me and my future roommates can at least respect each other for out different views. Wish me luck!
I think that many different types of Christians go to SPU and so you will likely find a group you feel comfortable with, even if that group does not include your roommates :) I actually saw in the Strange a article on SPU and although it spoke about the sexual activity of students (students are to swear that they will not have sex until after they are married), the article spoke how there were many types of folks there, including gay and lesbians. I bring it up becuase even in a college like SPU, you will come across many different people with different ideas and understandings. Eventually you will find the group that is right for you! I am excited for your new journey myself.

I heard many great things about SPU. I have a couple of friends who attends SPU. It's hard to attend a school that have strong beliefs against somethings, such as gay / lesbian rights. You will always run into people who will argue against a certain belief . Hopefully you can find someone who shares the same beliefs as you. Good Luck with your schooling!
