Hello readers!
Since my last post I have done some really hard thinking and I have made some decisions. I have decided that I want to major in social work. I have always wanted to work with kids. Working in social work will give me the chance to do that and I get to help kids and make a difference in their lives. I'm still a little nervous about going off to school and no longer living at home but it's a change that needs to happen to help me prepare for the real world. I'm ready to go to the next chapter of my life. June 16th I graduate with my AA from SSCC! I started SSCC right of high school and I'm happy that I'm finally graduating. It took me three years and a lot of repeated math classes but I did it and I;m proud of myself! I never quit and my mom has a huge part to play in that! She is my biggest fan. I love her and would be lost without her. So in closing I'm happy with my decision to stick with SPU and my decision to major in social work. Stay tuned for my roommate situation. I get to meet them in July. Pleas pray for me. I'm not that people friendly.lol.

I think its great that you have chosen to major in social work. I wish I had started out at a community college when I first graduated from high school but instead I went straight to UDUB. I had difficulties keeping up with school work and the transition from a high school student to a freshmen in college. I hope you enjoy your first experience at a University and living on campus! We look forward to hear stories about your roommate!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lena above, it's wonderful that you've decided on social work and that you're ready to take the plunge. I hope that you actually keep up your blog because it would be interesting to hear about your life on campus and all the different transitions you're about to head into. Not only is interesting to hear about it because I care about you as a person, but other students who are in your place - they would benefit from such a interesting blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear that you've been able to come to a decision that sounds appealing to you. It's kind of fun to watch people change as they go from week to week, as I recall just a few weeks ago, you were questioning whether you were even ready for SPU! Clearly you are, and it's great to hear that you're moving forward in that direction!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Deciding what you want to do is a huge step (and honestly one that people generally make many times in their life =)) it's good that you have decided the direction that you wish to take. It's awesome that you are graduating you deserve to be and must be so proud of yourself. Social work is a rewarding (though difficult) pursuit (i'm told) and we need smart and helpful people to pursue that career path. Good luck in all of your adventures.
